SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENTU

Dissertation work is engaged in methodical definition of the principal contributions of Supply chain management (next SCM) and focuses on proposals of approaches to increase of company effectiveness and profitability and also the whole company performance by using this method, tries to present various possibilities of measurement of this performance and to create a certain methodology for its increasing using SCM. The thesis is conceived having regard to fulfillment of the principal and partial goals of the dissertation thesis. The first part of this work is mainly dedicated to reasons of topicality and meaning of the concept SCM. The next part is focused on the present state of solved questions where describes actual opinions of experts and individual directions of using SCM in companies. This part also describes main definitions and the philosophy of SCM and is also engaged in IT support of this method. The next part is concerned with the partial goals, whose solutions create the main purpose and content of this dissertation thesis. These goals can be summarized in four fundamental spheres: .. The analysis of the present level of using the SCM model in Czech companies, .. Setting of relevant criteria for companies performance measurement in the sphere of purchase within the whole supply chain, .. Implementation of SCM into the company strategic management, .. Creation of the methodology for increasing company performance by using SCM. Partial verifications of the methodical processes in management practice of engineering manufacture companies frame a separate part. Contributions of the academic dissertation for theory and its contribution for corporation development and managerial practice are emphasized last.
The Utilization of Soft Computing in Ordering Cycle Management

This doctoral thesis deals with possibilities of using advanced methods of decision-making - Soft Computing, in company’s ordering cycle management. The main aim of the thesis is to propose an artificial neural network model with an optimal architecture for ordering cycle management within the supply chain management. The proposed model will be employed in an organization involved in retailing to ensure smooth material flow. A design and verification of artificial neural networks model for sales prediction is also part of this doctoral thesis as well as a comparison of results and usability with standard and commonly used statistical methods. Furthermore, the thesis deals with finding a suitable artificial neural network model with architecture capable of solving the lot-size problem according to specified inputs. Methods of statistical data processing, economical modelling and advanced decision-making (Soft Computing) were utilized during the model designing process.
Creating Logistics Concepts in the Selected Company

The thesis is focused on the logistics concept of company deal with mining of stones on the surface. The proposal part there are new possible solutions for logistics processes in the quarry. These new solutions should bring more efficient and lead to better satisfaction of customer while the costs should not increase. The proposed measures are build on previous theoretical knowledge and facts finded out by using SLEPTE and SWOT analyzes and others.

The bachelor thesis deals with increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the company Maloobchodná a.s. on 5 monitored economic indicators. To achieve the goals, a solution design is chosen in the form of software implementation for demand forecasting, automated order design, inventory, and supply chain management. Through the set indicators, the progress after implementation and the economic benefits of the software to improve the company's performance are evaluated.

The first part summarizes the basic theoretical background and terms. The next part describes the curerent situation and analyses the problem. The last part presents proposals how to accelerate the purchassing process and their benefits.
The use of optimization in production planning

The Master’s thesis deals with production scheduling in an industrial company. It uses the means of artificial intelligence to develop an appropriate production schedule in a generalized Flow-shop Programming problem. This problem can be solved by application which is a result of this thesis and was prepaired with use of the software Matlab 7.1 and its Genetic Algorithm and Direct Search toolbox. There is a part devoted to the use of advanced production systems (APS) and the concept of the operative production planning in praxis as well. The thesis pays attention to various optimization models in production scheduling and supply chain management too.

The bachelor thesis deals with the supply chain and supplier-customer relations in production plant of Bosch Termotechnika located in Krnov. During the elaboration, primary and secondary data were collected. Based on collected data, specifics were identified, and analyses and calculations of indicators related to SCM were performed. Subsequently, a risk matrix was created. The identified risks were rated by relevant employees and the risks were assigned a severity. Suggestions and recommendations resulting from the above are also presented.
Analysis of the business strategy and potential challenges of Japanese fast fashion brand Uniqlo's entry into the CEE market

Fast fashion is one of the fastest growing segments of the fashion industry. Benefitting from fast production cycles and extensive distribution channels to keep up with dynamic consumer preferences, Uniqlo is one of the world's top three fast-fashion brands, with overseas markets accounting for 48.7% of its total revenue. At a time when the business is currently preparing to enter the Central and Eastern European (Czech Republic) market, this paper analyses Uniqlo's overseas market strategy in three chapters, including its business strategy to enter the Czech market and potential opportunities and challenges. The data and information for this study were obtained from secondary sources such as company annual reports, websites, industry publications, information released by authoritative organisations, and official media interviews. The results of the study found that Uniqlo had adopted different strategies and had made strategic shifts in the Chinese, European, and Southeast Asian markets based on global consolidation and local responses. Furthermore, the results of the data analysed in the regression analysis indicate that strategic investments in human resources and administration have a significant positive impact on revenues.
